Taylor Rentals ("we" or "us") rents furnished homes in West Columbia, South Carolina. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit taylor-rents.com, book a stay, or contact us, and how we use and protect it.
Information we collect
- Booking and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, stay dates, number of guests and pets, and the messages you send us.
- Payment details: card payments for bookings made on this website are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, which handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
- Identity verification: every booking needs a verified ID. If you book directly with us, we ask you to send a photo of your ID before arrival, as explained in our House Rules.
- Online check-in: the details you enter in our online check-in form.
- Bookings through Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com: the platform shares your name, contact details and booking details with us. That platform's own privacy policy also applies.
- Website use: our website uses cookies and similar technology, as described in our Cookie Policy (linked at the bottom of every page).
- At our homes: outdoor security cameras, including video doorbells, are in use. There are no cameras inside our homes. Noise levels are monitored by Minut sensors. Self check-in uses a door code for your stay.
How we use your information
- To confirm and manage your booking, take payment, and send you check-in details, your door code and messages about your stay.
- To verify your identity and keep our guests, homes and neighbors safe. For bookings made directly with us, this may include checking public records, such as court records and the sex offender registry.
- To prepare the home for your stay and to enforce our House Rules, including any fees they describe.
- To answer your questions and, after a direct booking, to ask for a review.
- To keep the business, tax and accounting records the law requires.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide your stay:
- Companies that provide our business software and services, such as Lodgify (our booking system and website), Stripe (payments), and the tools we use for pricing and for scheduling cleaning.
- Our cleaning and maintenance team, who receive stay details such as dates and the number of guests and pets so they can prepare the home.
- The booking platform you booked through.
- Police or other authorities when the law requires it, or when needed to protect people or property.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records as long as we need them for your stay and for our legal, tax and accounting records. We keep ID photos and security camera recordings only as long as we need them for safety, security or to resolve a problem.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as using password-protected accounts with established service providers. No website or system is completely secure.
Your choices
- You can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected]. We may need to keep some records when the law requires it.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Children
The guest who books must be 21 or older. Our website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
